No-exam life insurance
Which applicants skip the exam, what the process looks like, and what to expect if you don't qualify.
A number of carriers now use accelerated underwriting: if you're in their age and amount range, they'll make a decision based on your application, prescription records, driving history, and other information—skipping the paramedical exam. Approvals can arrive within hours. Every quote here tells you if that carrier needs an exam, might ask for one, or doesn't require one.
What it changes
No exam doesn't mean no review. The carrier will verify what you told us, and if a policy was issued based on wrong information, they can challenge it in the first two years. If their records turn up questions, they might ask for an exam or bloodwork anyway; you get to decide if you want to move ahead.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants under age 60 seeking coverage up to what the carrier allows for fast-track decisions, with clean health records and no tobacco use for at least a year, qualify. If you saw a doctor recently and have lab results, some carriers will use those instead of ordering an exam.
Should an exam be required, it typically takes 20 to 30 minutes with a paramedical specialist who comes to your home or workplace in the Rialto area, at zero cost to you. For healthy applicants, exam results can even push you to a better rate tier, so it's not inherently a disadvantage.
